POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Lunch Cook
Position Summary
The Lunch Cook reports to the Food and Nutrition Supervisor. The direct
responsibility of this position is to maintain a food and nutrition program
for the ASGCC consumers, to coordinate and prepare daily in-house lunches
and delivered lunches, ordering of foods and supplies, maintaining cleanliness
of kitchen, keeping accurate records for budgeting and reports.
The lunch cook must be able to work closely in conjunction with other
ASGCC consumers, staff and volunteers to ensure that the ASGCC achieves
its mission of providing comprehensive HIV/AIDS support services.
This position requires dietician or nutrition experience, food preparation
experience, food cost control experience, knowledge of and ability to
prepare nutritious meals for people with compromised immune systems, excellent
organization abilities, computer experience, resourcefulness, the ability
to work as part of a team with other individuals and organizations, and
a commitment to human services.
This position is part time (25 hours per week), year-round, with benefits
as outlined in the ASGCC personnel polices.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain kitchen and food pantry in general state of cleanliness
with documented cleaning schedule.
• Seek out and coordinate opportunities for food donation for pantry
and meals program from purveyors, markets, and restaurants.
• According to need, make weekly purchases of food, cleaning supplies
and bulk items for office and lunch program.
• Work with volunteer coordinator to staff lunch driver and volunteer
kitchen assistants.
• Work with case managers to maintain up-to-date lists of consumers
receiving delivered lunches and/or special diets.
• Prepare lunch at 11 a.m. daily for in-house and delivery and double
lunches on holiday weekends.
• Monitor buffet, ensuring a clean station and food is available
from 11 – 1pm daily,
• Breakdown in house lunch stations at 1pm wipe down and clean kitchen
daily.
• Work with supervisor to develop and maintain cost control of lunches.
• Maintain kitchen equipment
• Maintain records of all purchases from food programs.

• Strongly preferred Serve Safe Certified

Resident Support Staff (1 full-time position)
and Per Diem Staff (several fill-in staff positions)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Resident Support Staff is responsible for providing one-to-one assistance
in the activities of daily living and other support services to individuals
residing at Foley House. This assistance is provided in a fashion tailored
to the individual and his/her needs at any given time and recognizes the
constantly changing nature and manifestation of HIV infection. These services
are coordinated through the Housing Program Director and Resident Support
/ Per Diem staff with input from staff from the client’s primary
care clinic, mental health provider(s) and/or the Visiting Nurses’
Association, if applicable. These services are provided on a 24-hour basis
and are intended to promote a stable, secure and supportive environment
for all participants.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide day-to-day practical assistance to all residents, including
activities of daily living, some of which may include housekeeping, meal
preparation, and personal care, as needed and requested
• Ensure a safe and confidential environment at all times
• Monitor the safety and well-being of all residents, including
ill or disabled residents, which may include regularly scheduled check-in
times
• Provide direct care to participants of the Group Adult Foster
Care Program (GAFC)
• Inform supervising staff of any changes in residents’ status
• Responsible for participating in cleaning of common areas, preparing
vacant resident rooms and for assisting new residents with their move
into Foley House
• Assist Program Director and Case Manager with scheduling activities
for residents
• Provide updates to ancillary service providers (Primary care clinic,
mental health provider(s), Visiting Nurses’ Association, Hospice,
GAFC staff, ASGCC Case Managers/volunteers, etc) on a “need-to-know”
basis
• Foster a hospitable and respectful environment while monitoring
each resident’s sense of personal safety and overall well-being
• Provide a non-medical response to crisis experienced by residents
by contacting the appropriate intervention professional involved with
the resident, the on-call staff member or, if necessary, “911”
emergency staff
• In conjunction with the Program Director, review all documentation
in each resident’s file in order to develop a familiarity with their
histories, presenting issues and the other service providers involved
with their overall care provision
• Document on a daily basis activities, behaviors and issues relevant
to a resident’s general well-being and/or on-going appropriateness
for residency
• Communicate residents’ status at “shift change”
meetings and/or in log book(s)
• Attend monthly staff meetings as well as any other trainings/meetings
as may be required
• Perform other duties or activities as needed or requested by Program
Director and/or Case Manager
REQUIREMENTS
• Certified Nurses Aide, Certified Home Health Aide, Certified
Mental Health Worker, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor or demonstrated
experience providing hands-on care to individuals with HIV/AIDS or other
chronic and sometimes disabling conditions
• One year experience working directly with homeless persons, persons
with disabilities such as HIV-related illness, persons in recovery from
addiction or related home care experience
• Strong oral, interpersonal and written communication skills
• High level of maturity and personal responsibility
• Personal commitment to providing respectful and non-judgmental
support and care to persons living with HIV/AIDS
