The AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod was founded in 1983 in a response to the emergence of a yet unknown disease taking the lives of gay men who lived in or moved to Provincetown for compassisonate care.
Since then we have continued to expand our geographical service area and now serve over 465 clients in all 15 Cape Cod towns, Martha's Vineyard and beyond.
Each year our prevention workers come into contact with over 100,000 residents and visitors to Provincetown. Visitors are from all over the world.
Our mission is to provide services that maintain and enhance the quality of life for persons living with HIV and AIDS on Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard and to provide health education, prevention and harm reduction outreach via timely and accurate information about HIV/AIDS, STIs and viral hepatitis. The services are consumer driven and family centered, however family is defined.
