L.I.F.E. Program
This program is specifically designed for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. It is offered through our Prevention department and is facilitated by a mental health professional and a peer, both staff of the ASGCC.
L.I.F.E. is a 13 week program limited to 20 people. The program is designed to enhance the immune system by focusing on stressors in your life and giving you the tools to reduce the stress. This program is praised by every participant.
What L.I.F.E. participants say about the program:
"Over the past 3 months, I've become more pro-active about my health and about the goals I have in my life. I've found that I've learned to confront my problems rather than avoid them. I am more equipped at navigating "Life with AIDS" than I was before the L.I.F.E. program."
"With the support and expertise of my peers, I was able to make some important changes with my HIV meds and as a results, I feel much better."
"I have the highest T-cell count since I was diagnosed, despite the fact that I made major life changes during and because of the L.I.F.E. Program."
"Those small steps that I took every week turned into huge movement for me. It really has improved the quality of my life."

The Mens Health Project (MHP) is a program that promotes sexual health and wellbeing among men who have sex with other men. Through numerous outreach activities including street, event, media and internet outreach the MHP provides education and harm reduction materials and counseling to reduce and prevent the transmission or acquisition of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
Work in Prisons
We provide health education to inmates in the Barnstable and Dukes County Correctional facilities. Classes cover basics on HIV, STIs, addiction and other health related issues. We collaborate with the prisons' reintegragation teams so that inmates are able to obtain service from us upon their release.
