Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are a key component of ASGCC’s work. We rely heavily on volunteers for many of our services such as transportation, food and nutrition programs as well as administrative activities like answering phones or helping with large agency mailings. We also use volunteers to help us with fundraising events and other activities. We are fortunate to have very dedicated volunteers throughout the Cape however we can always use more help!

To learn more or to volunteer contact us at 508-487-9445 or email us here.

Become a Sponsor
One of the biggest sources of support for the work of ASGCC is through our fundraising efforts. Throughout the year we raise funds through events, appeals, special campaigns and sponsorships.

Sponsors range from being a general agency sponsor to sponsorship of a specific event. General sponsors are listed in our website, social media and all of our promotional materials throughout the year. Event sponsors are listed at the specific event and materials for that event. Sponsorships include financial support as well as in-kind donations such as food or beverages for an event.

Current sponsors include: Seamen’s Bank, Fanizzi’s by the Sea, The Lobster Pot, Cape Air, and Shor Home Furnishings.

To learn more or to become an agency sponsor contact Dan Gates at 508-487-9445 or [email protected].

Corporate Giving
ASGCC relies heavily on financial gifts from individuals, foundations and corporate giving.

Generally our corporate grants are received after we have applied for them. We also have arrangements with corporations such as Liberty Mutual where employees make donations to ASGCC through payroll deductions. Individuals should check with their employer to see if they have a giving program. If so adding ASGCC as a recipient is a easy way to help support our work.

To learn about Corporate giving contact Dan Gates at 508-487-9445 or [email protected].

Gifts of Stock
ASGCC now can accept gifts of stock as donations. Our stock donations are made through our account with Charles Schwabb. To learn more about making a donation of stock to ASGCC please contact Paul Goddu at 508-487-9445 or [email protected].

Gifts of stock can sometimes be more advantageous for you than gifts of cash. When you give appreciated securities to the ASGCC, you can benefit in three ways:

  1. Your gift may be worth more than what you paid for it.
  2. You avoid paying capital gains taxes.
  3. If the stock has gained in value since it was acquired and it has been held long term, you may deduct the current fair market value of the stock from the current year’s taxable income.

Legacy
Including ASGCC in your will or trust
You can choose to leave a specific dollar amount, designate that a percentage of your estate be given through your will or living trust, or give only the remainder, or residue, of your estate –that which remains after bequests to loved ones have been made. The following is a suggested form for such a bequest:

“I give and bequeath to the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod, a not-for-profit corporation, with principal offices presently located at 96 Bradford Street, Provincetown, MA the sum of $___, to be used for the accomplishment of its general purposes (or for a specific purpose, as indicated).”

Naming ASGCC as a Beneficiary of Your Life Insurance
Life insurance policies are an easy and often overlooked way to make a meaningful charitable gift. This can be done by naming ASGCC as the beneficiary of a current policy, transferring the ownership of a paid-up policy to ASGCC, or taking out a new policy that names ASGCC as the owner and beneficiary.

Making a Gift of Retirement Assets
Retirement assets are one of the most mutually beneficial gifts you can give to ASGCC. Contributions that have been made over the years to an IRA or other qualified plan have been growing tax-free within the plan. If left to an individual, these funds may be subject to both estate tax and income tax, which greatly reduces the value of the asset. If left to a charity, such taxes are usually avoided.
